Puggles Rule!

Learn all about Australia’s very own puggles – baby platypuses and baby echidnas – with two Australian picture book creators who know them best.

Nina Rycroft is the illustrator of Little Platypus (CBCA Notable Book, NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge). Aleesah Darlison is the author of Puggle’s Problem (NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge).

Together, Nina and Aleesah will show you exactly what a puggle is. They will talk to you about the inspiration and ideas behind the words and pictures in their books and show you early drafts of their stories and illustrations.

Nina will bring her platypus puggle to life with drawing exercises. Aleesah will bring her echidna puggle to life with a reading from her book.

After the session, teachers will receive a Puggle Pack which includes Teacher’s Notes and follow-up activities.
